§ 66-23. Payment of fees and other costs by credit card.

  • (a)

    The Departments of the City of Mineral Wells are authorized to accept payment of fees, fines, court costs, or other charges by credit card.

    (b)

    The Departments of the City of Mineral Wells are authorized to collect a fee for processing the payment by credit card. The amount set for processing the payment shall not exceed four percent of the transaction cost.

    (c)

    The finance director shall deposit the fee or charge in the general fund or utility fund of the city, as appropriate.

    (d)

    The word "credit card" , when used in this section, means a card, plate, or similar device used to make purchase on credit or to borrow money.

    (e)

    This section becomes effective 60 days after the date passed and approved by the city council.
